TRINFINITY SOFTWARE RELEASES APPLESCRIPTS FOR ITUNES
For immediate release.
NEW YORK, N.Y. - - March 13, 2003 - - Trinfinity Software released today
three freeware, open source AppleScripts for iTunes. These scripts can be
used to drastically reduce the amount of time needed to clean up the ID3
tags of the songs in your iTunes music library.
The following AppleScripts for iTunes require iTunes 2.0.3 or later and can
be used on both MacOS 9 and MacOS X.
These scripts are freeware, which means that users can download and use them
for free. They are also open source, which means users are allowed (and
encouraged) to read the source code, modify it, and use it to create new
scripts.
Capitalize Words In Tags
This script capitalizes the first letter of each word in the song name,
artist, and album tags. It also makes all other characters in the tags
lowercase. For example the song "head like a hole" by "nine inch nails" from
the album "pretty hate machine" would become "Head Like A Hole" by "Nine
Inch Nails" from the album "Pretty Hate Machine".
Extract Artist From Song Name
When you add a song to your iTunes library, it will often have the artist in
the song name tag. This script removes the artist name from the song name
tag and puts it into the artist tag. It also removes leading and trailing
spaces from both the song name tag and the artist tag. For Example "Talking
Heads - Psycho Killer" would become "Psycho Killer" by "Talking Heads".
Remove Track Number from Song Name
When you add a song to your iTunes library, the name will often start with a
track number. This script removes the track number from the song name along
with spaces and dashes. For example "10 - Mr. Moustache" would become "Mr.
Moustache".
