The following AppleScripts for iTunes
require iTunes 2.0.3 or later and can be used on both MacOS 9 and MacOS X.
These scripts are freeware, which means that you can download and use them for free. They are also open source, which means you
are allowed (and encouraged) to read the source code, modify it, and use it to create new scripts.
If you create a new script based on one of these, we ask that you post it in the AppleScripts for iTunes forum on the
Message Board so that others can benefit from it.

Capitalize Words In Tags

This script capitalizes the first letter of each word in the song name, artist, and album tags. It also makes all other
characters in the tags lowercase.
For example the song "head like a hole" by "nine inch nails" from the album "pretty hate machine" would become
"Head Like A Hole" by "Nine Inch Nails" from the album "Pretty Hate Machine".
Capitalize Words In Tags is available for Macintosh and Mac OS X.

Extract Artist From Song Name

When you add a song to your iTunes library, it will often have the artist in the song name tag. This script removes the
artist name from the song name tag and puts it into the artist tag. It also removes leading and trailing spaces from
both the song name tag and the artist tag.
For Example "Talking Heads - Psycho Killer" would become "Psycho Killer" by "Talking Heads".

When you add a song to your iTunes library, the name will often start with a track number. This script removes the track
number from the song name along with spaces and dashes.
For example "10 - Mr. Moustache" would become "Mr. Moustache".
